Why is my file transfer rather slow when transferring through the Network?

The network function on the MediaGate was originally designed only for streaming contents from your PC to your television. It was later that we felt adding NDAS to allow the user to transfer files over the network would be a great bonus feature. To bring this function to life, we emulated the NDAS using a firmware upgrade. The only drawback was that the transfer speed for emulated NDAS is much slower than hardware regulated NDAS.

When I power up my MG-350HD I get a blank screen with no audio or video and the BLUE LED light is constantly flashing on the unit.

There can be two possible reasons why this is occurring:
First would be flash memory problem. This is usually caused by power problem while upgrading the firmware. There is no cure for this problem at the moment so please contact the store you had purchased the unit from to obtain a replacement.
Second reason this maybe occurring is that you are trying to use the MG-350HD as an external hard drive for your computer and media server simultaneously. If this is the case please unplug any USB devices connected to the MediaGate’s USB Slave port. Blinking should now stop and startup should be now normal.

I have set up the MG350HD with wireless connections. I am trying to set the IP address for the network (LAN) interface but I keep on get the error message "collide with Wire/Wireless IP, input again". How do I fix this?

This issue has already been addressed in firmware 1.1.0 and above. If you are running an older firmware version, please download and update your MG-350 with the latest firmware which can be found in the Download Section. If you would like to retain your current firmware, please try the following workaround.
Step 1: Change the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 for either LAN or WIRELESS.
Step 2: Now change either the LAN or WIRELESS (whichever one you did not choose in step 1) subnet mask to 255.255.0.0.
Step 3: Save your settings and reboot.
This should fix the IP conflict error and you should now be able to see the network using both the wireless and wired connection.

I cannot seem to upgrade the firmware on my MediaGate MG-350HD; I always receive an error message stating “UPGRADE IS FAILED”.

To upgrade the firmware of your MediaGate unit, please download the latest firmware to either your MG-350HD hard drive or use a USB flash drive. I have just installed my IDE HDD into my MediaGate MG-350, but I can’t seem to access the Hard Drive, or I can access it, but none of the files I have copied to it show up.

Ensure that the jumper settings on the HDD is setup correctly, make sure the setting is set to "Master" or "Single" and if that fails use cable select. Different HDD manufacturers require different settings. Also please format your HDD as "normal"(non-compressed) format. Fat32 and NTFS are both supported, but not in "Compressed format". It’s also best to enter a label for the hard disk during formatting process, please make it simple English or Number.
